35 and this already!

French composer Bruno Mantovani, 35, has received two remarkable tributes.

The first, Le Grand Prix de la Musique Symphonique, is given by SACEM, the French Society of Authors, Composers, and Editors of Music, and the presentation is scheduled for early December. The second, the Antoine Livio Prize, is awarded by the Paris-based International Musical Press Association.

Mantovani is already one of the most in-demand composers with an important international career. His frequency of performance already compares with the other renowned living French composers,  Henri Dutilleux, Pierre Boulez and Pascal Dusapin.

Born in Châtillon October 8, 1974, he entered the Paris Conservatory at 19 and won first prize for composition. He already has a long list of recordings and his works have been performed by important orchestras in Europe and America. His opera, “L’Autre cote,” debuted in Strasbourg and  received critical praise. The Paris Opera has commissioned another scheduled next season.
